What BillingNow provides
BillingNow is a browser-based invoicing and expense app with iOS and Android apps, from Cappsule Sàrl in Geneva. It creates invoices, estimates and credit notes, tracks partial and full payments, reads receipt photos into expenses and produces profit-and-loss and tax summary reports. An AI assistant can create invoices or reports from plain-language requests. Our assessment: it suits freelancers, sole traders and tradespeople who invoice from a spreadsheet or word processor today and do not need full accounting software.

Source: BillingNow site, checked 1 November 2026. Online card payments use Stripe payment links; the site lists PayPal as coming soon. Invoices support custom branding, recurring billing, automatic tax calculation with your own rates and export of reports to PDF, CSV or Excel.
Who it fits, and who it does not
- Fits: one-person and small businesses that send invoices, chase payments and log expenses, and want it done from a phone.
- Check first: if you need payroll, inventory, bank reconciliation or an accountant working in the same ledger, you need accounting software instead, or alongside.
- Payments: confirm Stripe is available for businesses in your country before relying on payment links.

- Does it support our invoice language, currency and tax rules?
- Can our accountant get an export in a format they accept?
- How are receipt images and client data stored, and can we export everything if we leave?
- What does the AI assistant do with our client and invoice data?
